Privacy Notice
Last updated November 6, 2026
This notice explains what Waypost Prep LLC (“Waypost Prep”, “we”) collects when you use the Waypost Prep website and apps (the “Service”), why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Waypost Prep is for students in the United States who are 13 or older, and for their parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
1. What we collect
Account information. Your email address, the display name you choose, whether you are a student or a parent, and your password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, we receive an account identifier from that provider and, where the provider shares it, your email address. We never receive your password for those services.
Learning activity. The answers you submit, which questions you saw, hints and explanations you opened, time spent on a question, lessons you completed, practice and assessment results, and your study plan.
Parent links. If a student and a parent link their accounts, we record the invitation and the link, and who created or removed it. A linked parent can see the student’s progress and results as the Service allows. A student can see and remove their linked parents at any time.
Agreement records. When you accept the Terms of Use and this notice, we record which version you accepted and when.
Usage and security information. We record session start and end times and the kind of device (web, iOS or Android) to measure how the Service is used. To protect the Service from abuse and cheating we count requests and question views, using one-way coded keys rather than raw network addresses. Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs. We keep email addresses, passwords, answers and messages out of our operational logs.
Messages to support. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
Payments. If you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive whether a subscription is active, its plan and dates; we do not receive or store your full card number.
We do not collect your date of birth, location, contacts, photos or microphone, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Cookies and device storage. On the website we use only essential cookies: one pair keeps you signed in, and a one-day marker that holds no identifier stops a new age-screen attempt after an under-13 answer. In the iOS and Android apps, your sign-in is kept in the device’s secure storage instead. We also remember your light or dark appearance choice on your device. We do not use analytics, advertising or other tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt in to.
2. How we use it
To create and secure your account; to deliver lessons, practice, results and study plans; to let a linked parent see a student’s progress; to send account emails (verification, password reset, parent invitations and service notices); to process subscriptions; to prevent abuse, cheating and automated scraping; to fix problems and improve the Service; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use your answers or messages to train AI models.
3. Who we share it with
Only with service providers that run the Service for us, under contracts that limit their use of your information:
- Google Cloud (Cloud Run): hosting the Service;
- Supabase: database, authentication and private file storage;
- Resend: sending account emails;
- Stripe (web subscriptions), Apple (App Store subscriptions), Google (Google Play subscriptions) and RevenueCat (subscription status for store purchases): processing subscriptions;
- Apple, Google, Facebook: sign-in, only if you choose that option.
The AI tutor uses prepared, reviewed lesson guidance and does not send your messages to an outside AI provider. If that changes, we will update this notice before it does. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this notice continues to apply.
4. How long we keep it
- Account and learning activity: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you delete the account;
- Parent link records: while the link is active, and deleted with either account;
- Agreement records: while your account is open, then up to 3 years;
- Usage records (session times, device type): 13 months;
- Abuse-protection counters: up to 24 hours;
- Account email delivery records: 90 days;
- Hosting and security logs: 30 days;
- Support emails: 2 years after the conversation ends;
- Subscription records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally 7 years);
- Backups: up to 35 days, then overwritten.
5. Your choices and rights
You can view your learning history in the Service. You can ask us to give you a copy of your information or correct it by emailing admin@waypostprep.com. You can delete your account yourself in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing us. Deleting an account signs it out everywhere, ends any parent–student link, stops renewal of plans bought on Waypost Prep and, if you signed in with Apple, revokes our access to your Apple Account. Subscriptions bought through the App Store must be cancelled in your device’s Settings. A parent may make these requests for their linked student by email. We will confirm an emailed request comes from the account holder or linked parent and respond within 30 days. Deleting an account removes it and its learning activity, except records we must keep for the periods above. Depending on where you live in the United States, you may have additional rights under state law. We will honor them, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
6. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls that keep each student’s data separate, and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
7. Changes
We will post any change here with a new date and tell you in the Service before significant changes take effect.
